Disaster in Japan – A combination of misfortune and mistakes

Who wants to be struck disaster and lose a family? Certainly no one wants. Very depressing, an old man crying to his next house, unfortunately it destroyed and his dead mother is still buried in the rubble at a devastated area hit by the tsunami and earthquake in Onagawa town in Miyagi Prefecture.

Japanese workers united with soldiers struggling to maintain a string of six nuclear reactors from meltdown, with low-tech arsenal of weapons and less powerful.

A police truck was dragged on uneven roads to keep the water spray at No. 3 and 4 reactors. The Japanese Self-Defense Forces helicopter was made to walk with a basket of water in a desperate attempt to cool the fuel, in the air above.

The Fukushima was design to withstand earthquake, but tsunami knocked out the electric power cooling system and diesel. Initially, authorities had safely shut down plants nearest to the earthquake and tsunami area. It’s false, without power cooling system the fuel rods had begun to boil off. They declared a “Nuclear emergency situation” within a few hours and told that resident near the plant should evacuate.

Then, something unexpected happened. The tsunami break out more than 10,000 dead people and more than 500,000 people lost their homes. An electric power expert said that people might have been prepared for an earthquake or a tsunami or nuclear emergency, but it was unlikely that they’re prepared for all three together. They told that the threat for the Fukushima is compounded by the design of its 40 years old reactors.
